Introducing the Monroe County Food Waste Drop-off Pilot Program

We’re excited to make composting easier and more accessible in the Florida Keys. Starting November 17 through February 6, residents can participate in a new food waste drop-off program designed to reduce food waste and protect the environment.

Food waste drop-off stations will be located in Key Largo, FL and Tavernier Key, FL. Exact locations will be shared soon!
How It Works
Composting at home has never been easier!
- Register for the program to receive the access code for your chosen location. Registration form will be available starting November 10th; include your contact information below to be the first to know when it is available!
- Collect your food scraps at home in a kitchen caddy or container of your choice.
- Drop off on your own schedule at your chosen Food Waste Drop-off Station in Key Largo or Tavernier Key.
