Introducing the Monroe County Food Waste Drop-off Pilot Program

Brought to you by Monroe County in partnership with Soilmate Composting, sponsored by Baptist Health.

We’re excited to make composting easier and more accessible in the Florida Keys. Starting November 17 through February 6, residents can participate in a new food waste drop-off program designed to reduce food waste and protect the environment.

Food waste drop-off stations will be located in Key Largo, FL and Tavernier Key, FL. Exact locations will be shared soon!

How It Works

Composting at home has never been easier!

  1. Register for the program to receive the access code for your chosen location. Registration form will be available starting November 10th; include your contact information below to be the first to know when it is available!
  2. Collect your food scraps at home in a kitchen caddy or container of your choice.
  3. Drop off on your own schedule at your chosen Food Waste Drop-off Station in Key Largo or Tavernier Key.
